Charlotte Champagne is an Instagram series following the fabulously absurd life of a wannabe influencer @charlottechampagne, joined by her precious pooch Chardonnay, scroll through all the sorts of troubles and mischief the pair get up to while trying to keep up with current trends on social media . The character @charlottechampagne is brought to life through the use of her own Instagram account, the content is her own, the selfies are all her, (put into photoshop a few times, but still all her) and the opportunity to become an influencer is hers, will she be able to do it? And at what price? Follow her to find out!
Charlotte Champagne uses the social media site Instagram, as a platform to host this series, with @charlottechampagne as the user uploading “her own content” to the site. This series is a satirical approach to the extremes in which some social media “influencers” will go too in an attempt to gain popularity online. Charlotte Champagne is a comedy, humourlessly weaponising the exploitation of the frauds of “reality” posted on social media, while also potentially utilising these exploits to ironically gain the attraction of those it’s mocking.
